📣 Applications are now open for the 2026 Asper Centre Constitutional Rights Clinic!

This year’s Clinic will be co-taught by Justin Safayeni, Partner at Stockwoods LLP and the 2026 Constitutional Litigator in Residence at @uoftjackmanlaw, alongside Cheryl Milne, Executive Director of the Asper Centre.

This four-credit clinical course gives upper-year JD students the opportunity to work on significant constitutional litigation and advocacy projects. Students gain practical experience in legal research, factum drafting, appellate advocacy, and policy work while helping advance constitutional rights in Canada.

To apply, email a one-page (max) statement of interest to Cheryl Milne at cheryl.milne@utoronto.ca by Friday, July 24, 2026 at 12:00 p.m. (noon).
Your statement should briefly address:
• Why you wish to enroll in the Clinic
• Experience with constitutional or human rights issues
• Other experience relevant to the Clinic
• Previous upper-year courses in constitutional law or human rights law (or equivalent experience) – not a prerequisite

Applications received after the deadline will still be accepted, but priority will be given to those received by July 24 at noon.
